Options for legalizing mining in Russia have been discussed in the government for the past few years.
The Ministry of Energy is one of the proponents of the earliest possible development of legislation for this industry. The ministry believes that citizens and companies mining cryptocurrency should pay taxes to the budget.
Last Saturday, the first miners’ conference in our country was held in Irkutsk, where Evgeny Grabchak, who holds the position of Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, spoke.
He stressed that the legal vacuum in the sphere of crypto mining regulation should be eliminated as soon as possible.
If the government wants to control the industry and create conditions for its development in Russia, it needs a legal framework that will ensure the transparency of mining. The allocation of energy quotas for miners should most likely be made by regional, not federal, authorities.
