Despite the decline in virtual currency capitalization, commercial companies installed 2,759 new cryptocurrency ATMs in the first quarter of 2022.
According to Coin ATM Radar, the number of cryptocurrency ATMs has been growing steadily since 2017, despite perturbations in the digital asset market. However, the most rapid increase in the number of crypto machines occurred last year, when more than 20,000 machines were installed.
Dynamics of change in the number of running crypto machines
From January to March 2022, the number of working ATMs increased by 8.13% and reached 36661 on April 3. At this moment, the residents of 76 countries can use the crypto machines. The U.S. and Canada are leading in the number of installed ATMs: 3,623 and 2,439 machines, respectively.
Among operators of crypto machines the leading position is occupied by Genesis, it owns 41.6% of devices. General Bytes controls 21.4% of ATMs and ranks second in this indicator. The top three is rounded out by Bitaccess, whose share of the cryptocurrency ATM market is 15.2%.
