Rarible adds NFT support to Polygon

NFT trading platform Rarible announced the implementation of support for non-interchangeable tokens issued on the Polygon blockchain. This addition increases the number of platforms available to users to four – Flow, Tezos, Ethereum and Polygon. Rarible co-founder and CEO Alexei Falin said that despite the rapid growth of the digital art market, the NFT industry has long had a problem with high commissions.

Polygon’s sidechain solves a number of problems inherent in the parent blockchain, Ethereum. For example, sidechain transactions are an order of magnitude faster and cheaper than those on the main network. Polygon also relies on the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model, as opposed to the energy-intensive Proof-of-Work (PoW) model that Etherium still supports.

According to Falin, as one of the largest NFT platforms, Rarible has a responsibility to address the problems associated with the creation and proliferation of NFT and the impact that the industry has on the environment.

The company also announced the launch of a profile feature that allows users to log in with different wallets. The feature will support up to 20 different wallets in different blockchains simultaneously.

In addition to supporting Polygon on its platform, Rarible also announced a partnership with Polygon Studios, a company that supports blockchain games, NFT and meta universes. The company will assist Rarible with marketing and developer support.

As a reminder, Polygon Studios’ head of meta-universe development, Brian Trunzo, previously said that the NFT and meta-universe industries have huge potential in high fashion.
