Media: eBay will start accepting cryptocurrencies

One of the largest U.S. marketplaces eBay is going to accept payments in cryptocurrencies, according to market sources.

American publication The Steet was the first to publish the news, citing the desire of CEO Jamie Iannone, the company plans to announce something as early as March 10.

According to the CEO of a major trading platform, innovation is needed to attract younger customers.

Experts in the market suggest that this may be a full-fledged launch of payment acceptance in digital currencies, or just the announcement of the launch.

According to Iannone, eBay now manages $85 billion in capital and is expanding payment methods:

“We have Google Pay and Apple Pay, as well as a partnership with Afterpay. We are still evaluating other forms of payments that should be added to the site. But right now we’re not accepting cryptocurrency”.

eBay is trying to attract more customers from the millennial generation, and numerous surveys, according to The Street, show that cryptocurrencies are the best way to do that.

Until recently, eBay skirted the issue of digital currencies, but in the middle of last year, the company announced that users would be able to buy and sell NFTs on its platform.

I am a very innovation-dependent form of life. I'm smart, but I don't wear glasses. I solve the Rubik's Cube in less than a minute. Probably the best beggy cryptomaniac in the world and my hobby is to start the day thinking that bitcoin will rise to $100k. To The Moon!
