TZ APAC has announced a collaboration with the National University of Singapore’s School of Computing (NUS Computing) to create a Center of Excellence in Computing. The new center, to be headed by NUS Computing professor Tan Sun Teck, will train industry experts in areas such as Blockchain, data science and cloud computing.
At an event titled “China Conference: Southeast Asia”, central bank representatives from the two countries said they were interested in issuing central bank digital currencies (CBDC). This was reported by the South China Morning Post.
The BIS Innovation Center completed a pilot project of the Central Bank’s digital currency pilot platform (CBDC) for international settlements. Central banks from Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and South Africa participated in the project.
