Hackers stole 20 BTC from a Muscovite with a special virus

Police investigated the theft of 20 BTC from a Moscow resident, Izvestia reported. At the time of the crime, the value of the stolen cryptocurrency was more than 28 million rubles. Now 20 BTC is estimated at about 88 million rubles. A group of attackers was able to send a future victim a link to a special program that steals data and passwords from cryptocurrency wallets. The victim downloaded the program, and the hackers were able to withdraw from his wallet all that was there.

So far, only one suspect has been detained, with several more wanted. A criminal case has been initiated.

Recall that in mid-January, the FSB carried out several raids to catch members of the hacker group REvil. Law enforcement authorities managed to confiscate more than 426 million rubles, including in cryptocurrency, 600,000 U.S. dollars and 500,000 euros. They also confiscated 20 premium cars, computer equipment and hardware cryptocurrency wallets.
